Aggregate & Base Materials β€” Miami, FL
Abraham Sand & Rock (ASR)

Abraham Sand & Rock is a Miami-based aggregate supplier serving South Florida's construction and hardscaping industries. For natural stone paver installations, the quality and iron content of your bedding sand and base aggregate directly affects the long-term performance of the stone β€” particularly with marble and limestone.

ASR supplies the washed concrete sand and crushed limestone aggregate used in base preparation and dry-pack installation methods. When ordering sand for marble or limestone installations, always request a low-iron analysis and specify ASTM C33 concrete sand to minimize iron migration risk.

Located in Miami, ASR serves contractors and distributors throughout South Florida including Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

What to order for natural stone
Washed Concrete Sand (ASTM C33)
For sand-set installations. Always request low-iron analysis. Do not use standard masonry sand with marble or limestone.
Mineral-Free Silica Sand
For dry-pack installations under marble and limestone. Iron-free composition eliminates staining risk at the source.
3/4" Crushed Limestone Base
For compacted base layers. 6" minimum for patios, 8-10" for driveways. Compact in 3" lifts.

Bonding & Bedding Compound
Dribond

Dribond is a polymer-modified bonding and bedding compound designed for dry-lay installation of natural stone pavers over existing concrete slabs. It creates a clean, iron-free interface between the slab and the natural stone β€” eliminating the staining and cracking problems associated with sand-set installations on concrete.

Once cured, Dribond bonds the stone rigidly to the slab, eliminating the flex that causes chipping and cracking in 1-1/4" marble, travertine, and limestone under vehicle or foot traffic. The dry-lay process is familiar to contractors used to sand-set installation, making it an easier transition than traditional mortar bed work.

Particularly well suited to South Florida conditions where existing slabs are common and the climate accelerates iron oxidation in traditional sand-set installations.

Sealers β€” Pompano Beach, FL
Surfacelogix

Surfacelogix is a Pompano Beach-based supplier of professional-grade sealers and surface care products for natural stone. For outdoor natural stone installations in South Florida's climate β€” high UV, heavy rainfall, and humidity β€” sealer quality and selection matters significantly for long-term performance.

Stone Paver Institute recommends Surfacelogix as a local South Florida source for penetrating impregnator sealers for marble, travertine, and limestone. Always consult with Surfacelogix directly to confirm the right product for your specific stone type and application.

Important

Always use a penetrating impregnator β€” not a topical sealer β€” for outdoor natural stone in South Florida. Consult with Surfacelogix directly for product selection specific to your stone type and project conditions. Improper sealer selection or application can damage natural stone.

Water-Based vs Solvent-Based
Water-based impregnators
Lower VOCs, easier application, shorter cure time. Good for residential use. May require more frequent re-application in South Florida's harsh UV and rain conditions.
Solvent-based impregnators
Penetrate deeper into denser stones. More durable under high UV, heat, and heavy rainfall. Generally preferred by professionals for outdoor natural stone in South Florida β€” longer lasting with fewer re-applications needed.
